Daddy's Long Legs® is well-known as the leading maker of African-American dolls and figurines. Karen Germany is the creator of these dolls that are very poseable, with dangling arms and legs. Her goal as a designer is to create artwork that makes the collector smile and characters that make you think of someone special. Since 1985, Karen has designed each of these unique collectible dolls. Realizing there was a void in the gift industry for good quality ethnic products, Karen developed Daddy’s Long Legs dolls into a predominately African-American collection. This unique family of dolls quenched the thirst of many collectors for over eighteen years. One is struck by the character and dignity of these dolls, ranging from sturdy rural figures to urban sophisticates.

Katy, #DL32B, is a beautiful collectible African American doll by artist Pat Weeks and manufactured by Daddy Longlegs of Texas. She is 13" tall with resin head, arms, and legs on a cloth covered wooden body. In her painted, molded hair she has two pink ribbon hairbows. The doll is dated 1997.

She is all original in her Victorian style natural white cotton eyelet dress with pinafore bodice accented with pearlized buttons. Around her waist is a pink pink ribbon belt with star tying in the back in a large bow. Underneath she wears white pantaloons. Her black slippers are painted on her feet. She also has her own wicker flower basket overflowing with white flowers. The basket is accented with a pink ribbon that matches her dress.

She comes in her original box with certificate of authenticity as well as the original brochures about the doll. She is in unplayed with condition and would make a nice addition to any collection.
